Starkesfield
Another piece of music made under the umbrella of Creative Partnerships was a collaboration between Suzette Rocca and myself, resulting in a 20 minute song, with verses describing some of the problems encountered by children in school. It was danced by the children from the Starkesfield Primary in North London, and the chorus was sung by the whole school.
Our Park
This was written for children to sing at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of a local park.
Book-Rap
Commissioned by Enfield Library Services for the launch of a new library, I visited a class of 8 year olds in a primary school in Enfield over a period of some months. The children told me how they felt about books, reading, and libraries. I took their words and ideas and wrote Book-Rap which I then taught them to sing. They performed it in February 2010 to a very appreciative audience when the John Jackson Library was launched.
